Example of Distributed I/O Expansion Configuration:

explain:
There are two ways to expand the I/O of the AC500 series PLC: local expansion and distributed expansion. Up to 7 I/O modules can be expanded
locally on the CPU. If I/O modules still need to
be added, distributed expansion can be achieved through fieldbus. The AC500 supports commonly used fieldbuses (such as Profibus DP, CanOpen,
DeviceNet, etc.) and ABB's own CS31 bus.
In this example, we introduce the very common Profibus DP distributed extension method. When conducting distributed expansion, it is necessary
to add a distributed expansion module: DC505-FBP
(Profibus DP Slave). For every additional slave added, a distributed expansion module needs to be added. The module capacity of each distributed
module: Max switch module: 7 blocks; Analog module Max: 32 inputs and 32 outputs, with a total of no more than 64 inputs. The communication distance and the number of slave stations are determined
by the selected bus. For example, Profibus DP has 32 slave stations without repeaters and a communication distance of 1200 meters.
1. Select CPU type

2. After selecting the programming language, enter the program editing interface. Click on [Resources] at the bottom of the left window to enter the following interface.

2. Configure the hardware according to the actual configuration: add local I/O modules and communication modules

3.After downloading, click [File] - [save] to save the configuration and exit to complete the configuration.

After downloading the network configuration, download the program to the CPU. Entering the program running interface, users can
perform corresponding operations according to their own requirements. For example:
Monitoring program:
